Plasma skin resurfacing delivers its thermal energy under the patient's top layer of skin. Approved by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA,) plasma energy regeneration treats facial wrinkles, small skin lesions and resurfacing of aged skin around the eyes and mouth.

The Result? Plasma skin resurfacing stimulates deeper tissue layers while preserving the outermost layer of skin until a new layer has formed. Then, the old layer flakes off, removing all the signs of years of sun exposure, including brown spots, fine lines, and deep wrinkles. At low levels, the patient has some redness for a few days after treatment; however, two or three sessions may be necessary. Higher energy levels produce redness over a longer period of time. In that case, healing time with plasma skin resurfacing is about seven days.
