Ultherapy is the newest FDA approved nonsurgical treatment for the face and neck that uses “focused” ultrasound waves for lifting, tightening, and toning your skin with a single treatment.
How The Procedure Works
An applicator is placed on top of the skin to heat the tissue below the surface to naturally and gradually create new collagen. This improves your skin from the inside out without disrupting the surface of your skin. Patients will feel some toning and firming immediately following treatment, but the full lifting and tightening effect will build gradually over time, three months, or more, and will continue to improve for up to six months.
Am I Candidate?
The best candidates for this therapy will be individuals that are beginning to see early signs of ageing, i.e. laxity beneath the chin and neck area, fine lines around the eyes and mouth and on the forehead. Ultherapy is not limited to one group of individuals. Any individual may come in for a consultation to see whether this therapy may be right for them. Individuals that may not be a candidate for surgery but want to improve their skin’s laxity can have this procedure. Results may be more subtle in some patients. Patients that have undergone a previous facelift surgery some years ago that are seeing some facial and jaw laxity are also good candidates for Ultherapy since this treatment will tighten up, tone, and firm loose skin.
Where Is The Treatment Performed And How Long Does The Procedure Take?
The treatment is performed in our Clinic under a local anesthetic block with the patient receiving a Lortab and/or Valium by mouth. The procedure can take from one hour to two and one-half hours, depending on the number of areas treated. The patient does need to have a driver after the procedure. There is no downtime with Ultherapy. The patient may experience some minor swelling and/or bruising post procedure but generally this resolves within a few days. Patients can resume their routine activities the day after the procedure is performed.
How Much Does Ultherapy Cost?
Ultherapy can cost from $1000. to $3500., depending on the number of areas treated.
Ultherapy can help you achieve a more youthful, and natural appearance with noticeably tighter and firmer skin. Ultherapy is a procedure you may want to consider to help you look your best if you’re just not quite ready for surgery!
